INTER DEPARTMENTAL SPORTS
1. UAP Football Club organized the Inter-Department Football Championship
2018
U P Football Club under the direction of Directorate of Students’ Welfare (DSW)
organized the “Inter-Department Football Championship 2018,” from 04-06 August
2018 at BUET Playground. Team from all the eight departments took part in the
tournament.
In the final match, held on 06 August 2018, Department of Electrical and Electronic
Engineering defeated Department of Civil Engineering by 2-0 in a thrilling match.
Supporters of both teams made the match lively and enjoyable.
Air Cdre (Retd.) IshfaqI lahi Choudhury, Director, DSW, Dr. Muhammad Mizanur
Rahaman, Prof. and Head, Department of Civil Engineering and a number of faculty
members and staff were present to encourage the players. The tournament was
coordinated by Md. Saleh Akram, Lecturer, Department of Law and Human Rights,
and Advisor, UAP Football Club.
2. U P Cricket Club organised the “Inter-Departmental Cricket Tournament-
Fall 2018”
U P Cricket Club organised the “Inter-Departmental Cricket Tournament- Fall
2018” from January 13-15, 2019 at the Clemon Playground, Manik Mia Avenue,
Dhaka where all the teams from the eight departments participated with great
enthusiasm. In the final match of the tournament held on January 15, 2019,
Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE) beat Department of
English in an exciting game. English won the toss and chose to field first. EEE scored
a total of 150 runs by 6 wickets. However, Department of English was all out in 106
runs due to devastating bowling by EEE. EEE won the championship by 44 runs.
Man of the Match was Hasan Mahmud Sourov from EEE who brilliantly scored 48
runs and took 1 important wicket. Nahid Ifty from EEE was the Man of the Series
who took 11 wickets in the whole tournament. The supporters of both teams made
the match a lively one.
UAP Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. M. R. Kabir was present as the Chief Guest while
Air Cdre (Retd.) Ishfaq Ilahi Choudhury, Treasurer & Director, DSW; Dr. Tapan
Kumar Chakraborty, Professor & Head, EEE, along with a number of faculty
members and hundreds of students from both departments enjoyed the final
match. Mr. A. H. M Zadidul Karim, Associate Professor, Department of Department
of Electrical & Electronics Engineering and Adviser, UAP Cricket Club coordinated
the tournament and made it a great success.
3. The Prize-Giving Ceremony of Indoor Games Club
The prize-giving ceremony of the Inter-Department Indoor Games Tournament, Fall
2019 was held on February 12, 2020, at the Games Room of UAP. The tournament
was held from November 26 - November 27, 2020 where students from all
departments participated. There were three types of games included in the
tournament, i.e. Table Tennis, Chess and Carom which were subdivided into 12
categories.
ir Cdre (Retd.) Ishfaq Ilahi Choudhury, Director, Directorate of Students’ Welfare
(DSW) was present as the Chief Guest. Mr. Saimum Rahman Prattay, Lecturer,
Department of English and Adviser, UAP Indoor Games Club delivered a welcome
speech. The Director, DSW said a few words and handed the prizes and
certificates to the students and volunteers. Among others, Mr. Md. Tarek Khan,
AD, DSW was present along with the members of the executive committee of the
central indoor club.
A total of 20 champions and 20 runners up trophies were given to the students
along with certificates for the players and volunteers.
*Every semester we arrange Indoor game like table tennis, Carom, Chess,
badminton (only in winter) in UAP sports room.
Intra-Departmental Sports of EEE
Department of EEE arrange different types of sports in every semester.
Outdoor game like Cricket and badminton were held in Fall semester and
football tournament was held in spring semester. For outdoor sports
Department of EEE submit their necessary budget including field rent to the
DSW. In these cases football, cricket and badminton tournament were held
in BUET playground and Clemon Playground, Manik Mia Avenue, Dhaka.
All the 8 semester were participated in the tournaments and over the year
around 200 students were involved in the different tournaments arranged
by the department of EEE.
