Message from Head of the Department

Welcome to the department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) at University of Asia Pacific (UAP).

The department of EEE started its journey by offering undergraduate program in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) to produce quality graduates comparable with international standards. In the beginning it had few students which increased day by day. Since the inception in 2004, the department has produced more than thousand graduates. Along with undergraduate program, currently our department is also offering Masters program on various fields of Electrical and Electronic Engineering. In this department we have a good number of qualified full time faculties with Ph.D and M.Sc. degrees from well reputed local/foreign universities. We have standard classrooms and adequate laboratory facilities such as electrical and electronic circuit lab, machine lab, computer lab, VLSI lab, power electronics and microprocessor lab, microwave communication lab, control system, biomedical lab etc. These laboratories not only meet the requirements for the undergraduate program but also facilitate different project works of the students. There are opportunities of internal research grants (IEERD) in UAP which support the faculties to continue their research work and have a good number of publications in quality journals.

The B.Sc. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering is accredited by the Board of Accreditation for Engineering and Technical Education (BAETE), Bangladesh. Therefore, the graduates from the department of EEE, UAP can become a member of the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB).

The IQAC assessment program, which is funded by UGC under their ’HEQEP’ project, was carried out successfully in our department. Following the IQAC guideline, the outcome based education program of our department was self assessed and after evaluation obtained a ‘Very good ‘score.

Besides the academic activity, our department encourages the students for extra-curricular activities. For this purpose, different clubs like cultural club, debate club, sports club, project club etc. are formed. Through the project club, the department of EEE took part in several national competitions and had a number of achievements.

We also have IEEE UAP Student Branch (SB) which organizes several workshops and seminars and arranges study/industrial tours for the students. To encourage the women to come forward to the world of technology and global communications we also have IEEE Women in Engineering Affinity Group Student Branch.

Finally, I would like to thank you for visiting our website. If you have any query, please feel free to contact our departmental office.
